With over twenty eight years specialised experience in developing and implementing Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) solutions and strategies across all levels of organisations, Dean has been instrumental in delivering projects with a focus on simplifying processes and working with Company Boards & Executives to mitigate and reduce the costs of risk.
Dean has extensive experience in operational and strategic Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) functions, operational systems governance, WHS strategic Regulator and legal case management and Executive Officer WHS duties training, mentoring and support. In the last five years he has expanded his remit further to encompass Business Improvement and Company Standards and Controls.
Through the past eight years, Dean has specialised in working with Line Management, Directors, Executives and Boards to develop WHS strategies and engaging company Directors and Officers in developing an understanding and ownership of their obligations, resulting in improved performance.
With a natural solution-focused coaching approach, Dean is effective in gaining an understanding of stakeholders’ needs and enabling them to work through a strategy in a simplified and meaningful manner. There is a focus on both the long-term needs of the business, as well as an awareness of the current reality and operational requirements. As a result, Dean is an effective business partner who is skilled in supporting, mentoring and training organisations to manage and meet their obligations and minimise risks. He believes that WHS has become too complicated and focusses on simple solutions to address complex situations.
Dean is married and has three children and three grandchildren. When he is not working with organisations to implement and manage change, Dean spends his time travelling around Australia in a caravan with his wife and two dogs.
