Our Services

Our Services

The primary focus of Executive Safety Services is to mentor, train and support Company Boards, Directors and Executive to achieve improved HSE performance through a resilient culture, relevant effective systems and targeted governance and diligence activities.

We empower Boards in their role as Work Health and Safety champions through improved knowledge and understanding (relevant to their business). We help boards to better control and rationalise what information they get, how they get it and what they do with it.

We support Boards in key areas:

  1. The level and types of information provided to Boards and Executives by practitioners. This information is often not at the level required toenable boards to easily identify and focus on the key points, issues, patterns and trends buried within the information they are provided.
  2. How lessons are reported and shared with the board – often the context of the incidents, rather than communicating the decontextualized underlying learnings that led to an incident prevents effective learning and control improvement. Link To Article
  3. Creating a “positive dissatisfaction with the current state” rather than to criticize the current WHS program and approach. This approach facilitates insights and discussions into the current situation to build an in-depth understanding of underlying strengths and opportunities surrounding WHS performance and enables clearer decisions on issues and the actions required. Investigative review

This is a process which we have developed and refined over many years. It could be described as a hybrid of techniques from an investigation, an audit, a culture review, and a root cause analysis. We have utilised and combined elements from all of these tools in a novel way, which allows review of technically and culturally complex scenarios and organisational issues via hypothesis techniques. This allows assessment, understanding and identification of any critical influencing factors so that the right action can be taken. This process can be used to identify underperforming operations and/or activities as well as being used to help understand the detail behind why something is working well. We can also provide training in how to apply the process.

We have a network of like-minded legal firms that we have worked with over many years to ensure the best possible outcome from any WHS legal matter.

Serious incident investigation

When serious incidents occur, it is critical to act quickly regarding response, control and investigation. It is also important to have some independence and distance from the event and operations leading to it. We have extensive experience in this area and can lead or support serious incident investigations, as well as assisting with “re start” and recovery post event. The actions taken after a serious incident play a significant role in how well a business and its people recover from an unwanted serious event.

Strategic Workers Compensation Management

We have worked extensively across all aspects of Workers Compensation across all Australian jurisdictions, including the Commonwealth Scheme and Self- insurance. Many employers are led to believe that Workers Compensation insurance is a bit like car insurance, you pay the premium and the insurer does the rest. This is not the case, and the best outcome for any company and its workforce is to ensure that the company has direct and ongoing involvement in how the portfolio is managed and reported.
